Romote Controlled Chairs - Part Two

So the girls were at Barb's again yesterday (Monday). Barb said that Makayla, yet again, venutred her way into Marion's room. Only this time, Marion was asleep. Makayla made her chair go alllllll the way up, then noticed her cup of iced tea so left the chair up. Marion was in the chair, sound asleep, leaned all the way forward with her arms on the floor. Makayla tried to take a sip of her iced tea, and ended up spilling it, so was quickly picking up the ice cubes when Alan walked in to hid the evidence.
Poor Marion never woke up. Good thing - she would've ended up in a pile on the floor!

Remote Controlled Chairs

I went to lunch with my co-worker lady friends today. It was great! We got to chat, eat, and not be bothered by the red neck boys we work with. With there, I bumped into Barb and her sister. The girlies go to Barb's on Monday & Friday... have for years. In turn, they call her Grammy. :) So, Grammy & I had the following conversation...
GB: So this morning, we couldn't find Makayla. Dave thought maybe she went in Marions room.
Me: What does she do in Marion's room?
GB: Oh, she likes to go in and play with the remote...
Me: To the TV?
BG: No. There's a remote that goes to her chair. Dave went in and Marion was going up and down, up and down, back and forth, back and forth, and Makayla was just standing there with a big grin on her face and her chubby little figers pressing the up / down buttons!
I was unable to speak as I was trying to contain my laughter.

Mama I love you.

My kids seem to be alot more wild lately. It's not even hyper. It's like they're trying to compete with each other to see who can be the loudest, baddest kid around. They run laps around the house. Take things from the other just to hear the other scream. Push each other around. And not like a gental push, like, shoving hoping to see blood. Hold the cat in the air by her tail. Pull the dogs ears and sit on him like a horse.
When is the craziness going to stop! They're good girls, don't get me wrong. They say their please and thank yous. They cover their mouths when they cough or sneeze... well, Em does. Mak doesn't really get that yet. But still. They're good! Why must they be bad? To test my patience? To see if I'll let them stay with their grandparents for a week, not just for the night?
Aw well. I guess some day I'll look back and wish they were still the darling 1 & 3 year olds that would stop talking/screaming/running/crying/whinning for a brief second to say "mama, I love you so much" and make the talking/screaming/running/crying/whinning not even matter.

Maine!

We're headed to Maine on Thursday. I cannot WAIT!!! We'll be there until Sunday, just long enough to get in a little vacation. We go with a big group of family & friends, so that will be nice not having to worry about watching the girls the whole time. They both currently have a cold, which I hope clears up by then. We can't wait though! Hopefully it's a hoot! And hopefully I don't over eat too bad. Or over drink. :)

Is it 5 yet?!

I think I'm overtired... Everything today has been pissing me off so bad. People at work, Arron, people at the gym, my lunch... I mean, what can my lunch do to piss me off. I dunno, but it managed too. I'm in need of a weekend of sleep! I'm also in need of all the dipshits I work with to get fired. That'd be great...

Enough bitching for one day...

Melting Mama's heart...

I've always loved music. I can remember loving New Kids on The Block so much, that I had everything from bed sheets, to 4x5 posters on my wall, shirts, dolls, sleeping bag, lunch box. You name it, I had it.
So, it wasn't a shock when I got older and became what's the word... I won't say obsessed, because that's rather stalkerish, how about, fell in love with the music and looks of the Backstreet Boys. This was about 10 years ago. In that 10 year span, I've gone to 5 (6 this Saturday) concerts, paid $250 to go to NYC to meet on of them (the money went to charity!) had my walls & ceiling covered in posters. I litterally mean covered - from ceiling to floor. Had countless CD's, memorabilia. You name it - I've been a devoted fan.
My dream has been that one day, at least one of my children would show an interest in music and concerts. So I could share with her the enjoyment of traveling around New England, or the US for all I know, watching her favorite play. Ahhhh the feeling.
Emma has started a "love" for Taylor Swift. I love it. LOVE. IT. She knows her song lyrics, has a t-shirt that she'd wear everyday if I let her, and has told me that she's going to come over and play some day. Very cute.
Last night did it for me. We were going home and she says, TOTALLY out of the blue and randomly:
"Mom. Someday, I'm gonna go to a concert. BackSeeBoys. And I'm gonna dance and sing reeeeeally loud".
She then found a BSB poster that came with a CD I've had well over a year. She wanted it put in HER room, right over her bed. Does she know how to melt her mama's heart or what...

Sleep Deprived...

My girls sleep through the night - Amen to that. Em will have the occational sleep walking episode, but for the most part she sleep great. Problem is, she doesn't want to go to sleep at night!
She'll sit/lay in her bed for an hour at least! Singing, "reading", crying, kicking... you name it, she's doing it. She's obviously exhausted, but just won't give in! What gives child! Mommy & Daddy need sleep to!
When she is finally asleep, it's usually a race to see who can get in bed first. We're out like a light! Then comes 5-5:15... our alarm is set to go off at 5:30 (still way to early if you ask me!). Both kids are awake before our alarm. I. CAN. NOT. FUNCTIONTHISDAMNEARLY!!!! Ugh!
Why can't they sleep until, hm, lets say 6?! Is that too much to ask!? No! It's not... so girls, please listen to momma.. Sleep as much as possible... Please. For my health. And sanity.. SLEEP!

Grease

Kristin & I took Em to see the play Grease at the local Opera House. I thought she'd love it... all of the singing & dancing! We had good seats - 4th row - near the band so no one was in front of us.

They started the first song... Em's eyes got big - they came out singing and dancing. I could hear something, I look.. and there sits a terrified three year old, curled up in her seat with tears rolling down her face, crying uncontrolably. Great... a whole 2 seconds into the show and she's crying, wanting to leave.

I take out outside to get some air and calm down. Apparently, she didn't like the drums - they were too loud. After a few minutes outside, then a few more in the back to theatre to show her that it wasn't "too loud", we were back in our seats. She sat on my lap - holding my hands over her ears.

She started to realize that it really was fun, and that she did like the songs and the dancing! She still had to hold my hands over her ears, but she was claping after each song. Not just clapping, but smacking her hands together so hard they had to of stung.

The drummer felt bad. He told her he'd try to play quietly, if at all possible... she liked that.

Intermission - we went outside to get some fresh air. It was hot. Em wanted a drink. Sorry dude - not paying $3 for a water bottle. So, in the bathroom we go, head in sink to get a drink.
Happy again, we return to our seats. Em sits in her own this time. Kristin and I are chatting, laughing about Emma's reaction at the beginning. Emma is looking at the guitarist with a puzzled look on her face. Here it comes, ready?

"Mom - is that a boy or a girl?" I could've died. The poor guy/girl totally heard what she asked. I ignored her, tried not to bust a gut laughing, and asked her if she was ready to hear more songs. She was - of course.

They started again, and I didn't have to cover her ears long. Maybe the first two songs, then she was good for the rest of the show. She wanted to dance. We had more then enough room in front of us so I said go for it! So, little Em stands there, skirt in hands, pulling it up for all to see her undies, like the girls on stage. I should've known.

Tantrums!!

Makayla has started having tanturms. Like... BAD tantrums! Biting, hitting, screaming, throwing herself on the floor tantrums. I don't remember Emma being like this.. EVER! It doesn't take much either. All I have to say is "no" when that little chub finger heads for the nostril and man! You would've thought I took away her best friend. Are you serious dude, I just said no! And for a good reason... who wants to play with the kid that's got a finger up their nose?! It's only to help her make friends in years to come.
I hope this isn't a sign of how her teenage years are going to be. If so, I'll end up in AA...

4th Weekend!

I love the 4th of July. It's my favorite holiday. Not sure why because I LOVE Christmas... and Thanksgiving. But the 4th... there's just something about it!
We went to the Morrisville parade on Friday. It was good... I guess. The girls both liked it so that was good. It was kinda hot, but not bad. We went to camp after and stayed there for most of the weekend. We had fireworks that night... Only 1 backfired, sending the crowd of people watching in different directions (if only I had my video camera going!) This happens EVERY year, never fails.
Makayla was kinda a crappy pants. She doesn't like the heat much, so she litterally slept most of the day Saturday. Like, she was sleeping more then she was awake.. by alot! She'd took 3 2-3 hour naps. Tired, crabby girl. :) Emma loved the water. She went tubing with Daddy, but that didn't go to well as he's too big and the tube was sinking because they had to go slow... oopsy. :)

Mak at the parade. :)

Em & Jacob - recindling their romance.

Doesn't he look thrilled!!

Mak - takin' a mud bath!

Life is SOOOO rough sometimes...

Sisterly Looooooooove.

"Get off - it's MINE!" Love I tell ya!

Young Love...

The girls love their new daycare... in fact, Emma is now playing the part of Shelby & her family at night. Last night, while tucking her in, I called her Emma (obviously). She informed me, that she was Shelby, and Mr. Dolphin was Ryan (Shelby's husband). So sorry! All of her dolls are named after the "babies" there. It's just the cutest thing ever!
She has a crush on Shelby's son, Hayden, who is I beleive 8, or almost... She wants to get her hair cut like his (a mohawk!), constantly asks me at night what Hayden is doing. Awww to be 3 again.
Makayla is trying to talk a lot more now. She jabbers all the time; non stop really. Once in a while there will be a word that we actually recognize. When we repeat it back to her, a huge smile comes across her face as she nods yes, like, HEY! you know what I'm saying!!
We're super happy that they've adjusted so nicely!

Mission: Outfits & Earrings

Saturday AM, my mom, myself & the girlies set off to Burlington. We had an mission: get outfits for G&G's anniversary party next weekend, and get Roonies ears pierced. The day started off good... we went to some stores in Williston. Em was pretty good, she only tried to run off a few times and didn't scream much. Her mouth did run non stop, but at least she wasn't screaming and carrying on... yet.

So we got to the mall, and after much debate, finally settled on getting the girls chicken nugget happy meals. We ate lunch, then set out for Claires or whatever it's called to get Roonies ears pierced. She was so antsy to be out of her stroller and just run around, that she wouldn't let me hold her. Emma was grabbing every pair of earrings any necklace or headband, that she could get her chubby little fingers on, then would try and run for the door. I filled out all the papers, and finally, I'm sitting there holding Makayla's head while they pierce her ears... (they did them at the same time thankfully!)

She wasn't too impressed... as you can see (about 5 seconds after the previous).

Then, she got to see that beautiful, chubby little face in the mirror, and all was right with the world. (no even 30 seconds after the first pic).
Part of our mission there was complete. Yay! Next, we needed to get outfits. We headed for JCPenney because they were having a huge sale.. although all the stores were really. Went right for the little girls clothes. My mom and I are ohing and ahing over cute little dresses, I turn around and there is Emma, buck naked. SHE wanted to try on a dress obviously! I busted out laughing and said "put your clothes back on!" She starts whinning, "I haffa try on that dress!" Between the whines and laughs (my mom was hiding behind a rack laughing hystarically mind you), I managed to get the clothes (including undies) back on.
We find two cute dresses... then head for shoes. Emma tried on a pair of hooched up hooker shoes that she TOTALLY thought she had to have. Please... even I wouldn't try to pull THOSE off! :) We found a couple cute pairs, then off we were to find outfits for us...
We chased Emma through racks of clothes, under tables, you name it, we chased, all while trying to try on clothes, keep Makayla occupied, and hush a screaming, running, crazy 3 year old! She tried to run over some poor sap aimlessly walking down the aisle, minding his own business. He gave her an "it's ok" smile, but I could totally tell he was swearing "what a little brat" in his head.
We somehow got outfits.. (mine was half off of course) and managed to leave with everything that we came with, including Em even though I thought about leaving her behind... not really, but damn!
We got in the car and Roonies was out before we backed out of the parking spot.. Emma was about 20 seconds later.
Mission: Complete.

And there's Roonies...

Our chubby little JoJo wanna be... :)

Testing...

Just testing this out. We'll see what crazy stuff my girlies can do that I can write about. Until then... Here's Emma... playing "hit". Notice the dress tucked in the undies? Classic...
